ArtFiction is a collaborative project designed and developed by Rino Pizzi, and involves exchanges between writers, visual artists, and actor/performers. Ten established writers (including critics, novelists, curators, reviewers, and historians) were invited to write about ten fictional Texas artists supposed to be living and working any time between the 1930’s and the present day. Ten actual artists were then invited to respond by creating work that could be attributed to the fictional artists, and ten actors sat for photographic portraits by Rino Pizzi as the fictional personas. Participants include writers Janis Bergman, Edward Carey, Katie Edwards, Robert Faires, Pete Gershon, Saundra Goldman, Stephen Harrigan, Kirk Lynn, and Mary Mikel Stump.
